Practical Measures to Improve Coating Leveling (Flowability)
1. Formulation Optimization: Appropriate Resin Ratio
Adjusting the mass ratio of polyester resin to epoxy resin to 90/10-95/5 can achieve good leveling while maintaining mechanical strength.
2. Adding Leveling Agents
Using low-viscosity leveling agents (such as silicone oil and polyether additives) can reduce the system viscosity and improve self-flowing ability during casting and spraying.
3. Particle Size Control
Refining resin particles to 10–30µm through grinding or ball milling can significantly improve flowability and reduce surface defects.
4. Temperature Control
Appropriately heating to 180℃-200℃ (for a short time) before application can reduce viscosity and help the coating spread evenly.
